Music Programs

Marc Ferris, author of Star-Spangled Banner: The Unlikely Story of America’s National Anthem (Johns Hopkins University Press), presents music programs featuring original arrangements of historical songs for guitar and vocals.

In addition to performing U. S. History’s Greatest Hits, 1590-1960 in four parts for Westchester Community College and in six parts, thanks to a grant from Humanities NY, he also plays a wide range of popular styles, including blues, jump blues, rhythm and blues, bluegrass, rockabilly, rock and roll, gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, classic country, new country, reggae, Cajun and fun songs few people would expect an acoustic guitarist to play.
