Music Goes to Battle: Songs the Veterans Knew

Every war in U. S. history has fostered popular songs that endure today. This program surveys the musical legacies of the country’s conflicts from the French-Indian War through Vietnam, covering all the so-called forgotten wars, including the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and World War I. Features a medley of the Army anthem, Anchors Aweigh (Navy anthem) and The Marines Hymn.
